DIGI-tize me

Two more digital pieces. Both from Photoshop CS3.
Random fashion sketch project loosely based on a Calvin Klein dress from Sept. 2008 (feat. in Vogue) is on the top.
Eddie Izzard "editorial" project on the bottom.
You may notice a nod toward illustrator Coles Phillips (http://www.americanartarchives.com/phillips,c.htm) because I love him.
I like how they both turned out. I will be printing them soon!

Various physical pain has stopped me from posting a whole lot lately, but this is something.

old ways

A couple of graphite sketches I did today and colored in with my new travel size Winsor&Newton watercolors.
I have been doing a lot of work in charcoal, ink, and digital lately, so I wanted to mess about with my old go-to medium. I used watercolor like this a lot in high school, but I'm pleased to say that these are an improvement.

more exploits in digital media

Done in Photoshop CS3:

A recreation of the movie poster for Sharkskin Man and Peachhip Girl. A Japanese film based on the comic book by Minetaro Mochizuki.

Line work is hand drawn in india ink. Coloring is drip brush preset.

Illustration assignment. Inspired by The Boondock Saints quote:
"As you all may remember, a long time ago, almost thirty years ago, this poor soul cried out for help time and time again, but no person answered her calls. Though many saw, no one so much as called the police. They all just watched as Kitty was being stabbed to death in broad daylight. They watched as her assailant walked away. Now, we must all fear evil men. But there is another kind of evil which we must fear most, and that is the indifference of good men."

badgers, badgers, badgers

Another experiment in my digital painting class.
Photoshop CS3.
My first successful all-digital full-color art piece.

It is a badger inspired by the Japanese fairy tale, The Badger and the Magic Fan.
